* Free Gallery Setting Your Markup There are several things you should consider when setting the markup factor for your gallery. As a general principle of business, lower prices result in a higher volume of sales and higher prices result in a lower volume of sales. We encourage you to compare the prices of your products to other similar products on our web site and others, before deciding on the markup for your gallery. You set the markup factor once for your entire gallery, and then all new images you add will use the same markup. You may change your markup, but we recommend that your prices remain stable for at least 180 to 365 days at a time. If you are an established artist or photographer and will actively work to promote your own gallery, you may choose to mark your prices on the high end of the markup scale. If you are new or not well established, you may wish to choose a low to medium markup. The standard markup ranges from 10% to 50% above the base price of each product sold. Markups above 50% are generally not competitive and do not result in sales unless you are very well known and have your own marketing ability. If you are a well known artist or photographer, please email us to request other options. Periodically, some of your images will be rotated into the Sale Area of our web site. Your markup factor will remain the same, but your commission on each item will be slightly lower to reflect the lower sale base price. The Sale Area is designed to promote products by providing additional exposure. In order to compete with other manufacturers, we offer volume discount pricing for large orders. If one or more of your products is selected as part of a volume discounted order, you will receive your markup on the volume discounted base price for the item. Some markup examples are listed below: Example 1: Adult White T-Shirt base price = $12.99 if your markup factor was 1.1 (10% markup), your t-shirt would sell for $14.29 which would make your royalty = $1.30 for each one sold. if your markup factor was 1.2 (20% markup), your t-shirt would sell for $15.59 which would make your royalty = $2.60 for each one sold. Example 2: 24 x 30 base price = $89.99 if your markup factor was 1.2 (20% markup), your 24 x 30 would sell for $107.99 which would make your royalty = $18.00 for each one sold. if your markup factor was 1.3 (30% markup), your 24 x 30 would sell for $116.99 which would make your royalty = $27.00 for each one sold.
