Art and Photo General Submission Guidelines
The Accents-n-Art.com general submission guidelines were designed to help you determine which images should be submitted for addition to our web site. We established these guidelines to be as fair as possible to both artists who submit work and to the diverse customer base who support the artists on our web site.
- Images that infringe on the rights of a third party will not be accepted. This includes, but is not limited to, copyright, trademark, and service mark infringement.
- Images that promote hate or intolerance toward a group or an individual will not be accepted under any circumstance. This includes both terminology and symbols used to promote hate or intolerance toward any race, ethnic group, minority group, or individual.
- Any image that depicts graphic violence or promotes the use of violence will be rejected.
- Images or terminology that may be construed to exploit others will not be accepted. This includes non-artistic nudity that may be considered to be obscene or pornographic. Any image that exploits a minor or suggests the exploitation of a minor will be rejected.
- A design containing violent or abusive terminology will be rejected.
- This list is intended to be only a general guideline for image submission. Accents-n-Art.com reserves the right to reject any image we deem to be inappropriate for inclusion on our web site for any reason.
Understanding Intellectual Property Rights
You must be the original artist, photographer, or designer of an image in order to have rights to the image. Simply compiling the work of others into one image does not give you the rights to those works. Someone else will own the rights to most images available in books and online. Additionally, you must have rights to the subject matter in the image. For instance, you don’t have the right to submit a photograph of a celebrity without their written permission.
If you are not sure whether you own the rights to an image, please consult an attorney or visit the following sources for additional information regarding copyrights or trademarks:
